About the tides at Cocohatchee River

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.3 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Naples (outer coast). The mean range is small, about 1.5 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on Monday, with a range of 2.4 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 1.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.8 ft on August 31, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on December 24.

Cocohatchee River is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Naples (outer coast): highs come about 70 min and lows about 88 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1978 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Wiggins Pass, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 26 min earlier.

Predictions are based on Naples (outer coast).
