About the tides at Coral Bay

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier. The mean range is small, about 1.4 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.4 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 23.

Coral Bay is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier: highs come about 107 min and lows about 134 min later than there.
