About the tides at Davis Slough

Davis Slough has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 0.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 1.1 ft. Neap tides follow on Tuesday, when the range shrinks to 1.0 ft.

Davis Slough is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Oregon Inlet Channel, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Coast Guard Tower, southwest of.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
