About the tides at Oregon Inlet Bridge
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.4 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Oregon Inlet Marina, Pamlico Sound. On a typical day the water moves about 2.0 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.9 ft on September 29 and bottom out at −0.2 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Oregon Inlet Marina, Pamlico Sound, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Oregon Inlet (USCG Station), 0.7 mi away, where high tide comes about 11 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Bodie Island-Pea Island, between.
Predictions are based on Oregon Inlet Marina, Pamlico Sound.
