About the tides at Deep Cove

Deep Cove has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The range is large, about 2.10 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on Wednesday, with a range of 3.42 m. Neap tides follow on October 20, when the range shrinks to 2.19 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1959. The nearest other station is Port Moody, 7.4 km away, where high tide comes about 9 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
