About the tides at Vancouver

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.56 m, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. With a mean range of about 2.08 m, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.42 m, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 2.20 m, on October 22.

Vancouver is a CHS station with a live water level gauge. Predictions come from the station's own tidal analysis. The nearest other station is False Creek, 2.3 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
