About the tides at Deep Creek Entrance
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. On a typical day the water moves about 2.8 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Virginia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.7 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 2.8 ft, on Monday.
Deep Creek Entrance is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Money Point, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Gilmerton Hwy. bridge, Southern Branch.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
