About the tides at Empire Jetty

Tides at Empire Jetty are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The pattern follows the reference station at East Point, Grand Isle. Water here rises and falls only about 1.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.2 ft, comes on Friday, and the smallest, 0.3 ft, on October 8.
