About the tides at Estero River

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.5 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at St. Petersburg. Water here rises and falls only about 1.7 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.8 ft, comes on October 14, and the smallest, 1.7 ft, tomorrow. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.3 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 21.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at St. Petersburg, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1973 to 1989 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Coconut Point, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Point Ybel, 0.4 mile northwest of.

Predictions are based on St. Petersburg.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
