About the tides at Five Fathom Hole

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Five Fathom Hole, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 5.83 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most New Brunswick stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 7.70 m. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 4.32 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Musquash Harbour, 4.2 km away. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
