About the tides at Fleeton Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.2 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The mean range is small, about 1.0 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 1.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.5 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on January 23.

Fleeton Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel: highs come about 238 min and lows about 254 min later than there.
