About the tides at Frobisher's Farthest
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Frobisher's Farthest, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 7.01 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Nunavut stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 9.60 m. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 5.10 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1951. The nearest other station is Lewis Bay, 14 km away, where high tide comes about 8 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
