About the tides at Golden Meadow

Tides at Plaisance Canal are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The mean range is small, about 0.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Louisiana stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 0.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 0.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 0.7 ft on December 25, and the lowest is −0.2 ft on January 20.
