About the tides at Hana

Hana has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Kahului, Kahului Harbor, Maui Island. The mean range is small, about 1.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is larger than most Hawaii stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.2 ft on August 1, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on December 23.
