About the tides at Hanbury Point

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 4.6 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.6 ft. The next spring tides peak on Thursday, with a range of 8.1 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 9.0 ft on December 25, and the lowest is −3.2 ft on June 6.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1973 to 1976 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Roche Harbor, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Haro Strait, 1.2 nm west of Kellett Bluff.
