About the tides at Hatteras
Hatteras has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 0.5 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.0 ft on September 29, and the lowest is −0.2 ft on February 11.
