About the tides at Hungry Harbor

Hungry Harbor has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Astoria, Tongue Point, Columbia River. With a mean range of about 6.4 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.5 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 3.9 ft, on October 16. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.4 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −2.0 ft on July 5.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Astoria, Tongue Point, Columbia River, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
