About the tides at Hwy. 19 bridge

Hwy. 19 bridge has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Clearwater Beach. On a typical day the water moves about 2.4 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.2 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.8 ft, comes on Monday, and the smallest, 2.2 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.4 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 21.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Clearwater Beach, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1976 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is New Port Richey, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min later.

Predictions are based on Clearwater Beach.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
