About the tides at Indian Key Anchorage

Indian Key Anchorage has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 1.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 26, with a range of 3.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.5 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.6 ft on January 21.

Indian Key Anchorage is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 85 min and lows about 54 min earlier than there.
