About the tides at Kuujjuarapik

Kuujjuarapik has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The average range is about 1.37 m. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 13, with a range of 1.73 m. Neap tides follow on Tuesday, when the range shrinks to 1.11 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1955. The nearest other station is Bear Island, chs-04648, 41 km away, where high tide comes about 19 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
