About the tides at Lawyer Islands

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Lawyer Islands, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 3.75 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most British Columbia stations on this site.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1970. The nearest other station is Humpback Bay, 4.5 km away. For tidal currents, see Skeena River, Middle Passage. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.

Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
