About the tides at Lighthouse Point

Lighthouse Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Galveston Pier 21, Galveston Channel. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is larger than most Louisiana stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.1 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 0.9 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.9 ft on October 27 and bottom out at −1.7 ft on January 21.
