About the tides at Little Talbot Island
Little Talbot Island has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. With a mean range of about 5.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 6.5 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 5.4 ft, on Sunday.
Little Talbot Island is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Fort George Island, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 46 min later. For tidal currents, see Mayport Basin Entrance.
