About the tides at Long Beach

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.1 ft. Water here rises and falls only about 1.0 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.3 ft.
