About the tides at Lora Point
Tides at Escambia Bay are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. Water here rises and falls only about 1.3 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.2 ft on October 30 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 21.
Predictions for Lora Point come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1993 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Floridatown, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 13 min later.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
