About the tides at Magnetic Point

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Union Bay, Earnest Sound, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Magnetic Point sees a mean range of about 13.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 16.0 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 19.7 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 9.0 ft, on Saturday.
