About the tides at Marshall Hall

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.3 ft. The average range is about 2.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Maryland stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 2.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 1.9 ft.

Marshall Hall is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Indian Head, 7 mi away, where high tide comes about 24 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Hallowing Point.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
