About the tides at Mccallum
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Mccallum, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. On a typical day the water moves about 1.19 m between high and low. That is larger than most Newfoundland and Labrador stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.63 m, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 1.12 m, on Monday.
Predictions for Mccallum come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1993. The nearest other station is Pushthrough, 4.7 km away, where high tide comes about 20 min earlier. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
