About the tides at Miguasha

Miguasha has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. With a mean range of about 1.55 m, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.33 m, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 1.16 m, on Tuesday.

Predictions for Miguasha come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1984. The nearest other station is Dalhousie, 3.8 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.

Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
