About the tides at Millenbeck
Millenbeck has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Sewells Point, Hampton Roads. The mean range is small, about 1.1 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 1.9 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 0.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.9 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −0.7 ft on January 23.
Millenbeck is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Sewells Point, Hampton Roads: highs come about 157 min and lows about 185 min later than there. The nearest other station is Urbanna, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 13 min later. For tidal currents, see Towles Point.
Predictions are based on Sewells Point, Hampton Roads.
