About the tides at Mont-Louis
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.52 m, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The range is large, about 1.66 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 2.49 m. Neap tides follow on October 7, when the range shrinks to 1.51 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1920. The nearest other station is Rivière-Madeleine, 32 km away, where high tide comes about 5 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
