About the tides at New Rochelle
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at New Rochelle, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Kings Point, Long Island Sound. With a mean range of about 7.3 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most New York stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.9 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.9 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 5.5 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 9.5 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −1.6 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Kings Point, Long Island Sound, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1957 to 1995 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Kings Point, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 16 min later. For tidal currents, see Echo Bay entrance.
Predictions are based on Kings Point, Long Island Sound.
