About the tides at North Head

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.25 m. The tide range here is very large, about 5.36 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most New Brunswick stations on this site.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Seal Cove, 15 km away. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
