About the tides at Old Frenchtown Wharf

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River. On a typical day the water moves about 2.1 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Maryland stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.8 ft, comes on October 29, and the smallest, 1.8 ft, tomorrow. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.4 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −1.5 ft on January 22.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
