About the tides at Patterson Inlet

Patterson Inlet has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Patterson Inlet sees a mean range of about 3.37 m. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most British Columbia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.69 m, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 2.29 m, on Monday.

Predictions for Patterson Inlet come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 2015. The nearest other station is Lowe Inlet, 21 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
