About the tides at Pettegrove Point

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Dochet Island, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 19.6 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Maine stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 20.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on Sunday, with a range of 21.9 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 14.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 22.9 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −2.5 ft on January 23.
