About the tides at Point Barrow

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at GALVESTON, Galveston Channel. Water here rises and falls only about 0.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.5 ft, comes on Friday, and the smallest, 0.1 ft, on Tuesday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at GALVESTON, Galveston Channel, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Umbrella Point, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 17 m earlier. For tidal currents, see Morgans Point.

Predictions are based on GALVESTON, Galveston Channel.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
