About the tides at Point Brown
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Toke Point, Willapa Bay. The range is large, about 7.4 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 9.6 ft. The next spring tides peak on Sunday, with a range of 10.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 17, when the range shrinks to 3.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 11.9 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.0 ft on July 5.
Point Brown is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Toke Point, Willapa Bay: highs come about 9 min and lows about 24 min earlier than there.
