About the tides at Ponce Inlet
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Halifax River, Ponce Inlet, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 3.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 1.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.0 ft on September 29, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 23.
Ponce Inlet is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Miami Beach, Government Cut: highs come about 5 min and lows about 33 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1974 to 1975 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Ponce de Leon Inlet, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min earlier.
