About the tides at Port Fourchon

Most days here have a single high and a single low. Around neap tides the pattern can blur into small double tides. Water here rises and falls only about 1.2 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.1 ft, comes on October 30, and the smallest, 0.3 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.1 ft on October 30 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 20.
