About the tides at Port Gamble
Port Gamble has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. The range is large, about 6.6 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on Tuesday, with a range of 10.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 5.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 11.8 ft on January 25, and the lowest is −3.7 ft on December 24.
Port Gamble is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Seattle, Puget Sound: highs come about 9 min and lows about 5 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Hansville, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Port Gamble Bay Entrance.
Predictions are based on Seattle, Puget Sound.
