About the tides at Pukoo Harbor
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Honolulu. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 2.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 1.8 ft.
Pukoo Harbor is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Honolulu: highs come about 63 min and lows about 48 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Kamalo Harbor, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 26 min later. For tidal currents, see Pailalo Channel.
Predictions are based on Honolulu.
