About the tides at Quonset Point

Quonset Point has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The average range is about 3.7 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.2 ft on September 2, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1999 to 2025 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Wickford, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 13 min later. For tidal currents, see Quonset Point.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
