About the tides at Roggan River
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.06 m. On a typical day the water moves about 1.39 m between high and low. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.77 m, comes today, and the smallest, 1.19 m, on Tuesday.
Predictions for Roggan River come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1972. The nearest other station is Long Island, 45 km away, where high tide comes about 40 min earlier. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
