About the tides at Rumford

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Seekonk River, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The average range is about 4.7 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Rhode Island stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.9 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 24.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 1994 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Pawtucket, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 15 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Providence River, Fox Point Reach.
