About the tides at Sea Level

Sea Level has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 0.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 0.9 ft. Neap tides follow tomorrow, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 0.9 ft on November 25, and the lowest is 0.0 ft on December 25.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2004 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Davis, 8 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 18 m earlier.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
