About the tides at Snag Point

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The tide range here is very large, about 16.6 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 20.6 ft. The next spring tides peak on Saturday, with a range of 22.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 16.6 ft.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today.
