About the tides at Middle Bluff
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 5.0 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Moller, Bristol Bay. The tide range here is very large, about 14.8 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 30, with a range of 24.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 10.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 23.4 ft on November 29, and the lowest is −3.4 ft on July 4.
Middle Bluff is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Port Moller, Bristol Bay: highs come about 236 min and lows about 250 min later than there. The nearest other station is Egegik River Ent, 15 mi away, where high tide comes about 40 min earlier.
