About the tides at Snooks Rocks

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. On a typical day the water moves about 1.11 m between high and low. That is larger than most Newfoundland and Labrador stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.75 m, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 0.90 m, on Sunday.

Predictions for Snooks Rocks come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 2014. The nearest other station is Jordans Point, 5.8 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
