About the tides at South Norwalk

South Norwalk has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The range is large, about 7.1 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 9.0 ft on September 2, and the lowest is −1.5 ft on January 23.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2002 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Rowayton, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Norwalk Harbor.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
